Prof. Bai Yong is the doctoral supervisor of Zhejiang University, Zhejiang provincial “ One Hundred Talent Plan” in 2009, China national "One Thousand Talent Plan” introducedexpert in 2010, founder and president of Hangzhou OPR Offshore EngineeringCorporation.
He achieved doctoral degree in marine structure in 1989 awarded by Hiroshima University, Japan. Engaged postdoctoral scientific research and teaching work in ship and ocean engineering field at the Technical University of Denmark, Norwegian University ofScience And Technology, the University of California at Berkeley.
He has published more than 100 papers (among which 68 papers are included in the SCI and EI), 7 academic monographs in English, 5 co-authored academic monographs in Chinese.
He has worked for DNV, ABS, JP KENNY , Shell International and MCS in the area of engineering management for more than 20 years, rich engineering experience and strong management capabilities.
He is in charge of dozens of big projects in ship structures, subsea pipeline / riser, offshore production system, offshore platform structure design, analysis and risk assessment. Founded the flow solid coupling vibration theory of risers, resonance and fatigue strength analysis, ocean current, resonance and riser dynamic response evaluation theory, proposed the deep water submarine pipeline anti-buckling and ultimate bearing capacity design theory which fundamentally improved the offshore pipeline design methods, analysis methods and design allowable standard and reached the international advanced level, it has been widely used in the engineering practice.
